RMIX
Amongst your peers
The Rocky Mountain Internet eXchange (RMIX), Denver's only IP peering point, offers its members exciting new VoIP opportunities and allows companies to colocate and/or interconnect in a high-quality, neutral colocation facility. The RMIX is committed to providing a high quality, secure and neutral peering point for the benefit of the Rocky Mountain Region's Internet Service Providers and Internet community at large.
Established to enhance the exchange of regional network traffic, the RMIX will facilitate peering amongst ISPs to reduce upstream Internet IP transit, lower costs and enhance performance.
Our location offers obvious opportunities for VoIP, as our members can exchange easily with other voice providers.
Why peer at the RMIX?
It’s reliable
The RMIX can help you guarantee QoS and minimize latency because its wire-speed switching acts like a private line. With one connection to the RMIX, you have the same benefit as you would have with point-to-point connections to its individual members. No other company in Denver can offer this service.
It's Faster
Much of the data packets traveling between Colorado ISPs gets sent to the major exchange points, known as NAPs, located on the east and west coasts and then back again. The laws of physics impose about a 30ms penalty on the middle of the USA getting to and from the coasts making numerous hops along the way. Data packets sent across the RMIX make far fewer hops and stay within Colorado.
It's Cheaper
For most ISPs it is far less expensive to exchange data packets over the RMIX than to pay for IP transit. If you are in the Comfluent facility, we’re just an Ethernet cable away, bypassing the local loop.
